Learn Through Us – Trainee Counsellors


Peace and Minds Counselling offer a limited number of trainee placements for counsellors in training who are completing Level 4 Diploma’s in Therapeutic Counselling (or equivalent) and above.

Placements are designed to be ethical, supportive, and aligned with UK training provider expectations, with a strong emphasis on learning, boundaries, and reflective practice, in-line with the BACP.

  • This placement may be suitable if you:

    • Are currently enrolled on a Level 4 counselling qualification (or higher)

    • Require an agency placement to complete course requirements

    • Are permitted by your training provider to work online and/or by telephone

    • Are able to commit to regular client work and supervision

    • Have appropriate student insurance and supervision in place

    All placements may need to be approved by your training provider prior to starting.

    • Opportunities to work towards a minimum of 100 supervised client hours

    • Work with more than one client over time, as required by most UK courses

    • Sessions delivered online or by telephone (subject to course approval)

    • Caseloads set at a level appropriate to trainee status

    • Supervision expectations aligned with course guidance (typically 1 hour per 6–8 client hours)

    • Placements are offered on a time-limited and capacity-dependent basis.

    • A formal placement agreement

    • Induction into policies, safeguarding, and ethical procedures

    • Clear boundaries around role, responsibility, and competence

    • Ongoing placement support and review points

    This placement is not designed for high-volume work and does not replace course teaching or supervision.
